Celebrating Grandparents

Grandparents. Grandparent day is the first Sunday after Labor Day (September 13th this year). I think it's easy to brush this day off as another silly day ("everything has a day nowadays"), but why don't we treat it more like Mother's Day or Father's Day? Obviously, this depends on your relationship with your child's grandparents. My personal experience is one of love and support. When my eldest child was 14 months old, I decided to start my own business. I began photographing professionally, went through a challenging pregnancy, cared for a toddler, had my second child...all while trying to grow my business. I would not have survived, my business definitely wouldn't have survived, without the support of my parents. I know I am extremely lucky to have this support. If you have parents or in-laws in your life who help with childcare, travel long ways to visit you, or love your children in an extraordinary way, they deserve to be celebrated. A photography session is the perfect gift for a grandparent. It captures the beautiful bond between a grandparent and grandchild.
